Cancer Cars Scotland is a database of volunteer driving schemes for cancer treatment in Scotland
This website is designed to assist health professionals, people with cancer, their relatives and friends to find voluntary organisations in Scotland which provide a personal transport service to hospital appointments.
Use of all schemes is subject to the availability of drivers.
Volunteer Driving Schemes
All organisations are either charities or small voluntary groups. The criteria for using the services they provide, and the services themselves vary and you will need to confirm details with each group yourself. Some organisations provide free transport, others charge a mileage rate, have a flat fee or ask for donations.
Use the search tools on the left of this page to search for drivers or groups in your area.
Some places are not covered by any voluntary organisation. While we have endeavoured to make this site as comprehensive as possible there may be local groups not listed here. Your GP, specialist cancer nurse, or oncology unit may be able to give you information on services where you live.
We endeavour to keep this website as up to date as possible, but changes to voluntary organisations are inevitable. We therefore cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information provided. If you find any inaccuracies in the information on this site please use the error form beneath the relevant Driver info or contact us so we can correct it.
Volunteering

We cannot deal with any individual queries on transport or your illness. If you have any questions about your illness, your own transport, claiming back travel costs etc please contact your local driving charity, your GP or local hospital. Other organisations who may be able to help are;

Who runs Cancer Cars?
This website has been set up by a GP who runs a small charity which takes people with cancer to hospital appointments. If you would like to start a similar organisation in your area she would be very happy to give you support and advice.
